iMagine at ICRI2024
iMagine will be featured in the ICRI2024 side event Empowering RIs for Global Impact: Digital Tools and Collaborative Solutions, taking place on Monday 2 December, 2:00 – 5:00pm in Brisbane (AU).
Research Infrastructures (RIs) are at the forefront of scientific discovery, driving innovation and addressing global challenges. To maximise their potential, RIs must leverage advanced digital technologies and foster collaboration. This session will explore how digital tools can empower RIs to overcome challenges, optimise resources, and achieve greater impact.
The first part of the session will showcase a range of European projects representing different stages of digital transformation:
- ENVRI-Hub NEXT is creating the essential foundation for interoperable environmental data and services, enabling other projects and RIs to deliver maximum impact.
- iMagine delivers advanced AI-powered image analysis tools and services for RIs, demonstrating the immediate benefits of digital adoption in aquatic sciences.
- RI-SCALE, launching next year, will pioneer the use of AI-powered Data Exploitation Platforms to unlock the full potential of big scientific data.
- SPECTRUM is gathering insights into future computing needs to ensure that physics and astrophysics RIs are equipped for the challenges of the coming decades.
- PHENET will share real-world challenges and opportunities in managing and analysing large phenotyping datasets, highlighting the critical need for advanced digital tools and interoperable infrastructures.
The second part will feature a panel discussion exploring global perspectives on RI digitalisation. We will hear additional perspectives from outside Europe, discuss exchange and alignment of practices and how the solutions developed in these European projects can be adapted and scaled for broader impact, fostering international collaboration and knowledge sharing. By identifying common challenges and opportunities, we aim to create a roadmap for future Digital infrastructure services and RI development.
